| Rehearsals |
Rehearsals are held at Ampleforth College on Saturday mornings, between 10:00-11:30am. We normally work towards one or two performances per term. A 75–80% attendance is expected so that we will be confident of the music and therefore enjoy the concerts.

We usually start with a warm up of stretching, tongue twisters and nonsense songs. Then we move on to learning some new songs or revising ones we already know. Each term we learn songs with a different theme. Previous themes have included Animals, Songs from Film & TV and The Sea. This term we are doing folk music from around the world. At breaktime we get biscuits and squash, and we play outside or in the gym. Sometimes some of the Ampleforth College music teachers come in to show us different instruments. We particularly like listening to Pipe Major Robinson playing the bagpipes, and Mr Kingsley playing the tuba.
The rehearsal schedule for the Spring term of 2010 is as follows: January - March 2010 9 January No rehearsal on 13 or 20 February due to half term 27 February Sunday 27 March - Musical in a Morning: "First Kids in Space" |
