Ampleforth Community Children's Choir meets every Saturday morning during term time, and is open to all children from Reception through to Year 9. Those in Reception and Year 1 join our First Steps training choir, Years 2 through to 6 constitute our primary choir, and Year 7 to 9 make up our newly formed secondary choir.
Mission Statement
The purpose of the choir is to offer children in the Ampleforth area the opportunity to develop a love of singing. The staff, members of the Ampleforth College music department and the North Yorkshire Music Services, introduce the children to a range of styles - secular, sacred, popular, folk; help is also given with vocal production and reading skills. Regular performances to stimulate the children's interest are a feature of the project.
